In the aftermath of the Battle of Sekigahara, seventeen-year-old Shinmen Takezo survives a devastating defeat and embarks on a violent journey through feudal Japan. Driven by an obsession with becoming invincible under the sun, he sets out on the path of the sword, encountering formidable warriors, unlikely companions, and the consequences of his own brutality.
